Board reporting pack for a family-owned retailer

The board received eighty pages a quarter and read four. We rebuilt the pack around the decisions the board actually makes.

The challenge

Reports were assembled by hand from six systems. Numbers changed between drafts, which eroded trust in all of them.

What we did

We agreed the twelve measures the board cares about, designed a four-page pack, and documented how each number is produced so anyone on the team can refresh it.

Outcome (illustrative)

Illustrative sample result: a four-page quarterly pack, a documented data lineage, and a shorter board meeting.
